Oh the fun we have around the office!

So one of the things I'm working on right now is an awesome new video game for Atari. I'll tell you guys about it sometime soon. It's in the really early stages of production and it's going to be super fucking cool.

The cool thing about this project is that I get to work with my friends Chelsea Peretti, Curtis Gwinn and Roger Hailes (who doesn't have a website yet) all day long!

Let me tell you -- things get pretty hilarious with this bunch of nutjobs! We're a real wild and crazy bunch! I tell ya, it's not like working in an office! It's more like working in a lunatic asylum or something! Ha-ha!

THESE FUCKING ASSHOLES ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY.

Official Statement On Wednesday Night’s Courtney Love Arrest.

Okay…

For those of you who have been asking me this week, YES – that was my Dad getting Courtney Love out of jail Tuesday night.

For those of you who don’t know, my Father is a Criminal Defense Lawyer. Now this isn’t the sort of thing he usually gets into. He spends most of his time defending kid diddlers, drug dealers, war criminals at The Hague and all kind of other weird people that he doesn't want me to hang out with. He doesn't usually get up in the middle of the night for the kind of clients that are like the rag tag group of kids I like to call my “friends.” Not enough money in it to get him out of bed.

Long story short (and left kind of vague because this is the internet):

Courtney was playing a secret show at Plaid on Tuesday night. I guess something went down with a mic stand or whatever they’re reporting in the press. I wasn’t at the show so I don’t know exactly what happened.

Around three in the morning I get a frantic phone call from a friend of mine*. My friend was at the show because they’re friendly with some of the people in Courtney’s new band. They were talking REALLY fast and all I could catch from the conversation was:

“Some guy bleeding -- trumped up charges -- Courtney Love – call your Dad!” Whatever the hell was going on, it sounded like a bad scene.

Anyway I was extremely worried and thought my friend was in some kind of serious trouble. It was one of those urgent phone calls where a person is talking to you so fast, that you don’t really understand the whole picture. It leaves you filling in the blanks with any number of horrible assumptions. The whole thing was a real bummer.

So I called my Dad in the middle of the night, went through whole, “I’m okay, don’t worry about me” stuff because I never call the guy so late at night, and then proceeded to tell him, “I think my friend needs your help. Can you please call them?” Dad quickly talked to my friend on the phone, got dressed and then went down to some police station in the east village as I was trying unsuccessfully to get back to sleep.

Around 5:00 AM, EXACTLY as I was finally able to get back to bed, my Dad calls me to let me know what the fuck was going on. It turns out my friend was fine but COURTNEY had been arrested over this crazy incident at the club. Courtney’s associates couldn’t get in touch with her lawyers, everything was getting totally insane and they needed someone to deal with it. That’s when my friend had the extremely smart idea to call me so I could get in touch with my Dad.

When my Father got down there, he was able to arrange Courtney’s release from jail that night. He called me as they were waiting for Courtney’s release and was hanging out at Lit with a bunch of my friends. Crazy weird.

That’s pretty much the whole story. My entire involvement was simply referring my Father to this little case last night getting Courtney out of jail. We haven’t yet discussed if I’m getting a cut of his fee, but he will probably find a way to screw me out of it because after all, he is a lawyer.

Seriously though, I sincerely hope everyone is okay and whatever went down at the club wasn’t terribly serious. My thoughts are with Courtney and everyone else who was involved. I’m glad my Dad was able to help out with everything. I can only hope that he wasn’t too sleazy around any of you chicks.
